Cormorant stainless steel garden sculpture height 182 cm.
The cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) is a bird species in the cormorant family (Phalacrocoracidae). The species' distribution area includes large parts of Europe, Asia and Africa, as well as Australia and New Zealand, as well as Greenland and the east coast of North America. As with all members of the Phalacrocorax genus, their diet consists almost exclusively of fish. Cormorants are social in all seasons, and their breeding colonies are located on coasts or large bodies of water. The species' population and distribution have been strongly influenced by human hunting in Europe, and the species was almost extinct in inland Central Europe at times. In recent decades, there has been a clear recovery in the population. The cormorant was the bird of the year in Germany and Austria in 2010. Original source Wikipedia.
The Hungarian artist's extraordinary garden figures are handcrafted unique pieces. The sculptures are made using traditional handcrafting techniques. They are made either from rust-proof stainless steel or from steel (St37) which is treated with acid to create the attractive rust patina. The rusty sculptures are given a protective layer to increase the lifespan of the figures (approx. 50 years). Appropriate fastening devices for floor or wall mounting are already included on site in the form of screws or eyelets, so that the sculptures can be easily mounted in the garden.
